A year ago I was contacted by Anja Strajnar, which invited me to work with her on project "M as Musical". I had a job of saxophonist and arranger. That's how I wrote an arrangement of song called "All That Jazz" - it has Slovenian lyrics.

The recording was made on Trnfest 2011.

In February 09' we were playing in Happy Jazz Club Stroyville in Helsinke. We decided to play the music of great musicians from so called Tristano school, Lennie Tristano included.

The song Subconscious Lee was written by Lee Konitz;

The song Lover Man was written by Jimmy Davis, Roger Ramirez & James Sherman.

In winter semester 08/09 the of  SIBIS Ensemble's theme was the work of great composer and bass player Charles Mingus.

Jussi Kannaste was the leader and the tenor saxophonist of this years SIBIS Ensemble. Besides him the SIBIS Ensemble consists of:

Nina Höynälä - vocal, Josua Sarikoski - trumpet, Črt Remic - alto saxophone, Kalle Timonen - piano, Mikko Pellinen - double bass, Mikko Arlin - drums.

Sibelius Academy is also known for it's big band in which I played this year. The conductor and artistic director of SIBIS Big band Antti Rissanen decided to introduce the band and the audience to music and arrangements of Thad Jones. The academy decided to transmit the concert live through internet TV-station SibaTV.
